Greenhouse Ministries offers the following classes for free. Seating is limited in each class, so you must sign up before the class session begins. Contact Malia for class schedule.
Computer I (Basic):
Start at the very beginning and gain an understanding of the basic parts of a computer. Learn how to use a mouse, improve your typing skills, and learn the basics of the Word program. Classes last for 4 weeks.
Computer II (Intermediate):
This more advanced program will teach advanced skills on Word and Excel. Students will also improve typing skills in this class. Classes will concentrate on Word for 4 weeks and Excel for 4 weeks.
GED Tutoring:
Students are required to take a practice GED test before attending classes. Students meet one-on-one with tutors to learn and practice the skills necessary to pass the GED.
The commitment for this class is 1 year, with an evaluation at 6 months to determine the student’s readiness for the actual test.
Budgeting:
Classes will cover how to develop a budget, make plans to pay off any debt, and learn how to live on what they make.
Parenting:
Classes will cover appropriate discipline, partnering with your child’s school, and appropriate role models, among other topics. Classes last for 4 weeks. We now have a Parenting Support Group here at Greenhouse. Graduation from the Parenting Class is required in order to attend the Parenting Support Group.
Reading:
Students will work on improving their reading skills in this class. Classes are ongoing. A student is welcome to attend until they reach their personal reading goals.
